Marine
The company’s core marine-focused businesses are based at two sites: Sutton Harbour in the historic heart of Plymouth; and, the newly revitalised Millbay coastal quarter adjacent to the city centre.
Sutton Harbour
The Marina at Sutton Harbour is a 5 Gold Anchor rated facility which enjoys an unparalleled location within a sheltered harbour alongside the vibrant quayside and historic Barbican area.
Secure berthing is provided for 523 vessels with exemplary on-site facilities and a dedicated customer care team, and berthing options range from a cost effective basic service through to a fully-serviced 5 star package.
Ideally located to explore the world-class cruising waters around the South West of England and to make the most of everything Britain’s Ocean City has to offer, The Marina at Sutton Harbour remains a popular choice with both regular berth holders and visiting boat owners.
The Marina receives a stable core annual revenue stream in the form of dues, fees and ancilliary income.
Plymouth Fisheries, the second largest fresh fish market in England, is based within custom-designed premises at Fish Quay in Sutton Harbour, which the Company developed in 1995 to help revolutionise the local fishing industry.
This thriving complex is viewed by many as the fisheries hub of the South West, sustaining more than 600 jobs, and reported record landings of £19.4 million in the year ending March 31st 2015.
Sutton Harbour Holdings plc is continually investing in improving facilities at the complex, and unveiled a £0.8million ice production facility in April 2015, part funded by a grant from the European Fisheries Fund (EFF). Further investment is underway to complete the essential chill chain at Plymouth Fisheries for 2015/16.
Millbay
Sutton Harbour Holdings plc was selected by English Cities Fund (ECf) in June 2011 as the developer of choice to build and operate a new marina in the major urban regeneration area of Millbay in Plymouth. This is the largest regeneration project ever undertaken in the city, which has created a new coastal quarter featuring residential developments, leisure and business use sites.
King Point Marina opened to great acclaim and received its first berth holders in September 2013. The marina now provides berthing for some 81 berths, accommodating boats ranging from five to 25 metres in length, with capacity for a further 86 berths to be installed.
The King Point Marina building also houses the award-winning and well-reviewed restaurant, The Dock, which enjoys far-reaching views towards Plymouth Sound.
