Sutton Harbour Classic Boat Rally

HISTORY: The enormously popular Plymouth Classic Boat Rally is now preparing for its 28th year and is always one of the highlights of the summer events calendar in Sutton Harbour.

Iconic boats from around the world arrive into the heart of Plymouth for the event every July, attracting visitors from history buffs to families who enjoy a lively and colourful day out enjoying the sights and sounds in the harbour.

EVENT: The rally welcomes historic and famous vessels to Plymouth and in recent years, rallies have featured a Dunkirk Little Ship, a World War Two motor torpedo boat, the Gipsy Moth IV used by Sir Francis Chichester to sail around the world, and dozens of other unusual sail and motor boats including luggers, gaff rigged boats, Bermudan rigs and schooners.

Many boats visiting Plymouth for the rally are on the National Register of Historic Ships, and some are more than 100 years old, including the Devon Maid which took part in 2014.
